  • Narrowband UVB Phototherapy

    NG YAG TATOO REMOVAL

    Narrowband UVB is the most common form of phototherapy used to treat skin diseases. "Narrowband" refers to a specific wavelength of ultraviolet (UV) radiation, 311 to 312 nm. UVB phototherapy was formerly provided as a broadband source (290 to 320 nm).


    The narrowband range of UV radiation has proved to be the most beneficial component of natural sunlight for psoriasis. Narrowband UVB may also be used in the treatment of many other skin conditions including atopic eczema, vitiligo, pruritus, lichen planus, polymorphous light eruption, early cutaneous T-cell lymphoma and dermographism.


    Compared with broadband UVB

    • Exposure times are shorter but of higher intensity
    • The course of treatment is shorter
    • It is more likely to clear the skin condition
    • Longer periods of remission occur before it reappears

    What does narrowband UVB treatment involve?

    Patients attend for phototherapy two to five times weekly. If whole-body treatment is recommended, the patient is placed in a specially designed cabinet containing fluorescent light tubes.


    The patient stands in the centre of the cabinet, undressed except for underwear, and wears protective goggles. Usually the whole body is exposed to the UVB for a short time (seconds to minutes).


    Shorter bulbs can be used for localised UVB treatment, eg of hands and feet or a small body region.


    The amount of UV is carefully monitored by the phototherapy staff. A number of protocols exist depending on the individual's skin type, age, skin condition and other factors.


    What is the result of narrowband UVB?

    The skin may remain pale or turn slightly pink (the Minimal Erythemal Dose) after each treatment. Let your therapist know if you experience any discomfort.


    Patches of psoriasis generally start to become thinner after five to ten treatments. Most patients with psoriasis require 15 to 25 treatments to clear. Results vary.

    The word "Mesotherapy" is derived from the Greek word 'meso' meaning 'middle'. The actual treatment is applied into the mesodermal tissue, i.e. the middle layer of skin. Unlike oral medication, it is, therefore, possible to treat the problem area directly. Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure ,actual treatment is a series of tiny injections of a cocktail of vitamins, amino acids, anti-inflammatories .The combination depends on the problem being treated. These are fed into the skin with the use of a small needle about 4-6mm long. This medication stimulates the middle layer of skin improving microcirculation and drainage of toxins in the area treated. Mesotherapy uses different injection techniques according to the patient's concerns, delivering the ingredients to different depths, though as already indicated, typically quite shallow. Many of these are not even felt as the skin is pinched prior to and during the injections. Since the injections are very superficial, they disperse very slowly and travel down to deeper tissue.


    In hair mesotheraphy, special serums containing the vitamin hair needs, mineral and rare-earth elements are injected directly to the middle layer of the skin where hair follicles take place. This revives the damaged hair and helps in the hair loss treatment caused by the other diseases (thyroid disease, anemia, etc.). Also is an effective treatment method in hair loss caused by stress, extended process of seasonal hair loss and nutrition disorders. 5 and 7 sessions after starting the sessions you can see the positive changes. Will take 3 months for the first positive results to be seen.

  • PRP: Platelet-Rich Plasma

    Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is an autologous concentration of human platelets in a small volume of plasma. These platelets consist of many growth factors such as vascular endothelial cell growth factor (VEGF), platelet derived growth factor (PDGF) among others, which help in faster healing of soft tissue like hair and skin regeneration. The growth factors that are released from the platelets play a role in proliferation of cells and remodelling of the tissue.


    It is a proactive therapeutic option for male and female patients experiencing hair loss. It is a medical procedure which can re grow hair that has thinned and prevent further hair loss.


    Hair follicle has a very complex biologic structure and growth of the hair process is regulated by specific growth cycles. The mature follicle undergoes successive transformation from anagen (active hair shaft production) to catagen (apoptosis-driven regression) to telogen (resting phase with the involution of hair follicle). Many growth factors play a fundamental role in the life-long cyclic transformation of the hair follicle functioning as biologic switches that are turned on and off during the different phases, controlling the active phase and promoting apoptosis to induce catagen and telogen The main growth factors involved in the establishment of hair follicle are vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), epidermal growth factor (EGF), insulin 1-like growth factor, and fibroblast growth factor (FGF). Platelets release large amounts of platelet-derived growth factor (PDGFaa, PDGFbb, and PDGFab), transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ1 and β2), EGF, and VEGF.


    Therefore PRP has tremendous results , the process involves extracting 10 ml to 30 ml blood out of the patient, the blood is then in a centrifuge and spun quickly for 5 min to separate the red and white blood cells from the platelets within the blood. The local anesthetic is injected. The plasmas of platelets is then re-injected into the treatment area through the region that is thinning/balding or the region that is about to have a transplant. The entire process of doing PRP for Hair takes approx 30mins.


    Procedure

    Blood is collected and processed for extraction of Growth Factors. The Growth Factors are then injected into the patient.
